At Growth-X Consulting, we believe in unlocking potential through real-world impact. As SMU’s premier student-run consulting club backed by SMU-X, our mission since 2019 has been to develop thoughtful, driven, and future-ready individuals by placing them at the heart of real business challenges. What sets us apart is our focus on hands-on client work. We do not just teach consulting frameworks, we give you the space to apply them with real companies across diverse industries, from startups to multinational corporations.

Your Journey
The Growth-X experience is designed to grow with you. From your very first semester, you will step into a role that challenges and stretches you, starting with structured training and culminating in your first internal case competition (ICC). You will work closely with your batchmates and mentors to sharpen your skills in problem-solving, business analysis, and storytelling, while learning what it means to be part of a high-performance team.
In your second semester, you will take on a real client project as an analyst, working directly with a business to tackle real-world challenges. As you progress, you will step into more complex leadership roles, becoming a project lead who manages both your team and your client relationship, and later, a project advisor or EXCO member shaping the direction of the club itself. Along the way, you will join subcommittees, contribute to internal initiatives, and build a portfolio of experience that is meaningful and market-ready.

Our Recruitment Process
We know that applying for a consulting club can feel daunting. This is why our recruitment process is designed to be transparent, interactive, and supportive from start to finish. The process spans four main stages:
Stage 1: Application Form
Submit your motivations, past experiences, and what excites you about joining Growth-X.
Stage 2: Case & Deck Challenge
You will receive a business case and create a 6-slide deck to showcase your thinking and communication.
Stage 3: Group Case Interview
A 1-hour in-person interview to evaluate how you structure problems, work with others, and communicate under pressure.
Stage 4: Coffee Chat
A casual conversation to better understand your interests, fit, and potential within the Growth-X culture.

Casing Masterclass
